    praesidium censura?

What are your thoughts on the anti-piracy law.  Should we believe that it will indeed reduce piracy of the internet or might it be another form to censor free speech for Americans? What are your thoughts?  Did the blackouts of wikipedia and craigslist affect normal everyday lives?  Let me know your opinion and see below on the current state of "SOPA".

Immediately following Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-NV) decision to postpone a full vote on the “PROTECT IP Act” (PIPA), which was originally scheduled for Tuesday, Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX), chief sponsor of the “Stop Online Piracy Act” (SOPA), has announced that he will delay further consideration of the contentious anti-piracy bill in the House “until there is wider agreement on a solution.” Earlier this week, Smith said that he would resume markup hearings on SOPA by the House Judiciary Committee, of which he is chairman, in February.

    Helping or enabling?

    Nulla vel justo?

What is your opinion in regards to Social Services programs?  Is it possible that we may just be enabling a society, thereby delivering a message of low expectations to future generations?
Or, could it be, that due to the economy most Americans are forced to swallow their pride and accept whatever help may come?  I have included some links that I have read and hope you might find interesting. Additionally I included Newt Gingrich's opinion on the matter. As usual please feel free to express your opinion.

    Another challenge for foster children
    — identity theft

Well, this may come in a few months too late for me.  I had heard rumors about this happening in general to this population, but I did not follow through at the time to see if this was really happening or if it was mere speculation.  It appears that children in the Foster care system not only face immense challenges in growing up and becoming self efficient while juggling emotions, broken hearts and broken families.  Now, the odds are also stacked against their favor in order to be able to build any type of financial future.  With so many burdens put upon them, where can we really place blame or better yet where can we focus our solutions?...

    frivolous lawsuits

    "frivola litibus"
Hello to all, I hope you had a great start to the new year and are ready to put those resolutions into play.  I have done some reading over the weekend and found some interesting articles in regards to alleged frivolous lawsuits as well as some humorous stories.  I would love to share those with you and have you comment on how you feel our current legal system is run.  Do you feel it is being run effectively or like so many others, have lost faith and believe that it is greed oriented?  Additionally, included is my favorite video on lawyer fun.  Please, please feel free to express your opinion.  I love to hear what people have to say and be reminded that in our system, it is only through numbers that we can make a change!!
    My Best,

PS.  A great book to read is the Biography of "Johnnie Cochran", the main defense attorney on the team in the "OJ Simpson Trial".
